Loyal readership is something that every blogger should strive to get because if you don't have the right kinds of readers you won't ever be able to get a consistent response from your blog. Creating a sticky blog and building reader counts is not something that every blogger is able to do and that is usually because they don't focus on the basics. There are lots of things that you can do on a blog that aren't that difficult but that will make a major difference in the long term.

First and foremost, remember that your blog's design plays a major role in helping your readers stick around. Whether someone sticks on your site (or decides to come back) is a decision that gets made within a couple of seconds and depends heavily upon how accessible your site may be and what kind of design has been implemented. A simple and easily navigated design that doesn't have a ton of ads on it will show visitors that your blog is definitely worth paying attention to. The more organized your blog appears to be the more time visitors will spend exploring it.

Work to build a kind of anticipation on your blog so that your readers always want to read more.

For example, if you create a series of posts on a certain or particular topic and see that your readers get greatly enthused about those posts and are interacting with each other about them, you can be positive that they are going to look for more content that is like that series. You want to create the sense of need in your readers and that is why building momentum is important. This will lead them to subscribe to your blog and obviously increase your stick rate.

Readers often visit your "About Me" page to find out more about you. They want to know who's behind the blog, what are their ambitions, their aspirations, their approach, etc. If you want to raise your blog's sticky level and get more subscribers, creating an engaging "About Me" page is very important. You don't need to make the page long or deep, you just want to give people an idea of who you are and what you're about. While the content is the best place to show off your offerings and value, the "About Me" page is still an opportunity to get people to read you so don't ignore the opportunity.
