Everybody enjoys the smell of their new car. The mixture of leather and plastic definitely captivates the aromatic senses. Not surprisingly, once the smell goes away, many of us get air fresheners that make our car smell fruity or musky. Which is okay, everyone finds distinct aromas appealing. One smell that you might run into is something that smells sickly sweet. This smell signifies there is a problem in your coolant system. Although this may be a tiny leak, it is something you will want to get fixed right away before it causes other troubles. One further thing you may possibly notice is that this smell is really strong. Should you have this strong odor, it could mean that the heater core is leaking in the car. Just as before this is something to have fixed immediately as the gases are not good for you to be breathing in and the lack of coolant can lead to other issues. You could also notice that it is possible to smell the exhaust inside your car. This is a good indication that there can be a hole inside your exhaust system. If the smell is very apparent, it could mean that you've got gaps in the floorboard due to rust or the doors are not sealing very well. Lastly, you may run into a rotten egg odor. If you discover this kind of smell in your car it is more than likely due to the fact that your catalytic converter has become clogged. It is not necessarily dangerous to your well being but it might lead to some damage to your car if it's not taken care of in a timely manner.
