These days, producing a blog is not that difficult to do. But, if you plan to make your readers stick around your blog and get new readers in the process, then it is crucial that you do the right things to run your blog. Below are a couple of the items that can be done to make your blog more appealing to your readers. Even with an obscure topic, the deeper you dig the more information you will find which makes it quite awkward to try and include all of it on your blog. But one approach to an extensive sub-topic is to write a post and mention that it is the first in a continuing number of posts about that particular topic. This way you'll not only be achieving your purpose of delving deep into a particular topic, but at the same time, you'll give your readers much more content to bite on. People like reading short posts that are to the point, and they get excited when they see many short posts about the same time as they give a lot of information. Also, the spacing will be quite nice as you have to research and prepare the next installment in the series. You do not want to post everything all at once because you want to make people have the desire to keep returning to your blog. There is little to no reason for any content to have mistakes in it like grammar errors, and enough of them will turn people off of your blog. These are the technical items that will work either for or against you. If you are going to work hard to make everything perfect, or at least very nicely done, then put the same effort into your writing. One thing you can do is write your content, then walk away for a while and return to do the final draft. Perhaps the reason you can always improve on it later is that your brain has had some time to digest it. Getting someone else's opinion before publishing can be good, but people are busy and probably would only reluctantly agree to proof read it. Make it Targeted: If you want to give your readers what they want, then always post stuff that's relevant to your blog's topic. Writing posts on subjects that do not relate to the topic is not a good move. There is a reason that you have subscriptions to your blog. They want information that's targeted towards them, not away from them. Each and every post that you craft should be highly focused. It should deliver quality information in that area itself. For example if your blog deals with dog training, then that should be to topic of each post. Don't write about cats. It is possible to develop an eventual authority site by following known concepts and principles for blogging.
