So clear up any un-needed icons from your desktop and make it squeaky clean, this will allow you to focus on giving out the best results for your screencast, rather than getting clumsy searching for your apps. Besides that, it doesn't look professional to have a crowded desktop - not a good signal to send out to your audience. Don't be afraid to take breaks whenever they are needed. When you're just not feeling the vibe or things don't seem to be going well with the recording, perhaps it's time to take five. One good thing about creating screencasts is that you have total control over the whole process; so if you feel that you need to take a few breaks here and there, then do so by all means. However, taking too many breaks will spoil the flow that you're in, which will ultimately show up in your screencast. Sustaining momentum is very important if you're serious about getting your recording made. Make sure your confidence shines through in your screencast as it will make your audience feel more at ease. Make sure you sound vibrant and confident throughout the recording. Doing this will make you much more believable to your audience. Lay all your cards on the table so that you can really shine in your video. This is your one appeal for your audience and they will decide how to respond based on what they see and hear.
