BPI's Solution To Global Warming: Biodegradable Containers

The continuously growing problem on global warming has become very alarming and people are working at their very best to contribute in the efforts of trying to prevent it from getting worse. In fact, even if the solution requires that we give up some of our basic necessities, most people are still willing to do it primarily because they realize how bad our condition would be if global warming continues to become worse. There are currently a lot of different organizations or institutions trying to come up with better solutions for this problem. One f them is the Biodegradable Products Institute. This institution is an association of individuals and various different groups aimed at helping the world resolve the problem on global warming by promoting the use of recyclable and biodegradable materials. The institution makes sure that the biodegradable products or materials that are being sold in the market pass their tests and standards to guarantee that they are indeed biodegradable or capable of composting, decaying or being broken down into more basic components. Biodegradable Products Institute also promotes biodegradable products that are on sale from various different retailers. They promote products like biodegradable plastic water bottles, biodegradable kitchen wares and the likes. Among the top line of businesses that greatly contribute to the overflowing garbage dumps of non-biodegradable plastic bottles, containers, utensils, etc. are food chains and convenient stores. Because of this, these business establishments are also being encouraged or required by environmentalists and government institutions to start promoting the use of a biodegradable container instead of the traditional plastic container. A container that is capable of decaying or composting is made up of fermented corn and other natural organic raw materials which are less harmful to human health and the environment. Although they make use of different raw materials, they are able to provide us with the same quality and physical appearance as that of the traditional plastic containers being used today. A biodegradable container may also come in different forms. The most common form is the plastic water bottle. Others include paper plates, plastic spoon and fork, etc. These containers are as durable as traditional plastic containers and are also as presentable but they are biodegradable which makes it less harmful to the environment. These containers are currently being called bioplastics. In order for us to take part in the responsibility of resolving the problem on global warming, we should start getting used to bioplastic materials.
